I hardly ever take pictures of my own children as I find I really don't have the patience with them needed to get great pictures! The boys are less than fond of getting their pictures taken, but my daughter loves it.  These were taken on a VERY cold day with the sole purpose to do Christmas cards. The boys wanted their coats but my daughter was seemingly fine with the freezing temps!  Hope you enjoy!

I can't believe another year has come and gone.  One of my favorite things about photography is being able to capture those unrepeatable moments in ones life.  I had many of those moments this year, with weddings, newborns, Seniors, and others.  I love seeing all of my repeat customers and their growing families as well as all of the new clients I get to meet each year.
  Here is a look back at a few of my favorite shots from 2013 in a slideshow.

I am so happy to announce another workshop! We had so much fun and so much success from the previous ones that I decided to do it again! It will a two day workshop filled with learning, interacting, on-location shooting of a model, editing and fun! There will be a catered lunch and snacks. Just Shoot It! Photography Workshop

Date: November 16th and 17th, 2013

Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm
Tuition: $119 per day or $200 for both days (each day includes a catered lunch)
Max number of attendees: 7 each day
Location: Kalispell, studio and on location
After attending the Rocky Mountain School of Photography and working as a professional photographer for over 14 years I have frequently had clients, colleagues, friends and family express frustration with their cameras and the pictures they take. After the fun and success of the previous classes I decided to put on another one! This will be a two day class with the first day focusing on camera settings and shooting. We will have a child model to practice on towards the end of the day. On day two we will focus our entire day on editing and the different techniques you can use in photoshop.   Knowledge of photoshop is not necessary but will be helpful if you have some idea of an editing program.
This workshop is for anyone wanting to advance their photography skills with a full weekend of learning with hands-on training! This class is designed to teach you to take your camera off of program/auto and have fun doing it! We start with the fundamentals and technical stuff. We will have a wonderful catered lunch, then head out to go on location with a model to try out everything we learned. The last couple of hours will be back at the studio for review and critiquing our pictures.  A Q&A and feedback session will wrap up day one!  On day two we will be in the studio working on post processing. If you missed day one try to bring in some pictures on a disk or memory card so that you can have a chance to work with your own images.  Laptops with an editing program such as photoshop or elements is encouraged but not necessary.

Digital Fundamentals- 

This Workshop builds a strong foundation of digital photography knowledge.

• Learn about all the necessary digital photography techniques and terms, from scene modes, manual modes, ISO and depth of field, and everything in-between
• Learn how the fundamental settings affect the shot you want to get
• Explore composition and posing
• Different shooting styles from landscape to macro
• Get familiar with a basic digital workflow
• Learn some editing tricks
• Review and critique of your pictures from the assignment
• Q & A session

What you need to bring:

·         Notebook and pen

·         Digital camera (must have “m” or a manual mode)
       Lens

·         Your camera’s manual

·         Memory card

·         Laptop(optional)

Refunds and Cancellation

Student initiated cancellations will receive a 50% refund for notice received at least 2 weeks immediately prior to the workshop. No refund will be given if cancelled less than 2 weeks prior to the workshop. Refunds will normally be processed within 30 days but can sometimes take up to 60 days.

I just can't wait the arrival of this little one! With her parents she is sure to have the most beautiful colored eyes! The end of November can't come soon enough for me! I'm sure there will be lots and lots of pictures of her to come!

When I pulled up and saw this really old cool turquoise truck I was SO hoping that Amanda was the one in it! And boy did I get lucky! Not only did she bring the truck to use in the pictures, she was strikingly beautiful as well! She has amazing eyes and the cutest freckles! I hope you love your pictures Amanda!

I have hit the jackpot this year with beautiful senior girls!  Breana is such a nice girl and has the sweetest dog. She is really into her music and dog and hopes to stay in Montana for school.  I think she did the "serious" face better than anyone I've ever met! She has a beautiful smile as well and is super photogenic!  I hope you have an amazing year Breana!!

Shae is such a gorgeous girl, she could easily be a model.  She is just as sweet and so is her mom, sister and friend that came with her for her shoot!  Shae is a cheerleader and is even headed to London this winter for cheer!

I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Jeryn's big day in August. They are such a sweet couple and when you see the way Jeryn looks at Jessica you just melt! They really seem perfect for each other and I'm sure they will have a lifetime of happiness together.  Here are a few of the pictures from their special day.

I just love doing pictures for this family. I have been taking their pictures since the oldest boy turned one and I love seeing both boys grow up. They are such handsome polite young men! I had so much fun at this session, we shot at three different locations and got some great "spring" pictures.  It's always so nice to catch up with an old friend and just sit back and watch her kids play and be boys! I hope you enjoy the pictures!
